Obtaining a Work Permit for Foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The employer must submit an application for obtaining approval for the employment of a foreigner to the competent authority, the Employment Service. The application must contain all the necessary documents, including proof of professional qualifications, a resume, a copy of the passport, and other documents that may be requested by the Employment Service.

Once approval for foreign employment is obtained, the foreign citizen can apply for a work permit. The work permit is issued for a specific period and is usually tied to a specific employer. A foreign citizen who has obtained a work permit must also be registered at the residence address in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Obtaining a work permit for foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a process that requires meeting certain conditions and properly submitting the required documents.

The work permit is issued for a period of one year and can be extended. Upon successful completion of the process of obtaining a work permit, the foreigner can regulate their temporary residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina based on employment with a work permit. The temporary residence permit is issued by the Foreigners Affairs Service in accordance with the Law on Movement and Stay of Foreigners and Asylum and the Law on Employment of Foreigners in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
